The crews I respect are not short on skill. They are short on Tuesdays that already have an address. Unpaid estimates are how those Tuesdays disappear.
The Render Flex Trade Guild puts booked work on a board. The homeowner already priced the room at GoRenderSpaces.com. You claim a card that shows the city, the rooms, and a flat dollar amount.
There is no unpaid walkthrough to win the job. The rooms are pre-measured. Sherwin-Williams paint is pre-ordered. A Day-1 midpoint draw is available, and the rest is due within 24 hours of sign-off.
What the homeowner already agreed to
| What they booked | The public price | What you receive |
|---|---|---|
| Good, ProMar 200 | $677.50 on a 12×12 | A flat work order, not their receipt |
| Better, SuperPaint or Cashmere | $846.88 | Paint plus a touch-up container |
| Best, Emerald or Duration Home | $1,084.00 | LED prep and new nylon plates in the scope |
Those three numbers are the customer prices in Northeast Ohio. Your card does not show their receipt. It shows your pay, the gallons, and the room list. Closets on that sample start at zero, and a closet they add is $75 on their side.
From the Jobsite: I still carry a Bosch Blaze GLM165-40 on day one. The quote was measured, and I confirm it before a can opens. If the room is not the room on the card, I stop and file the change through the board.
Why the neighborhood cards fill first
Homeowners who pick a flexible schedule can qualify for a 5-mile match. Their Good room can be $575.39 up front, $548.42 net if you are the verified pro nearby, or $511.75 net if the room is empty. Those are their discounts: 10% schedule, 3% plates, 6% wall color, 6% trim color, 8% if empty, and 5% after the match.
You are not discounting your pay in the driveway. The work order was written before you claimed it. The $500 customer floor is their minimum ticket, not a number on your check.
How a strong crew actually uses the board
Claim with the crew size you have that morning. A diploma can fast-track an early level. A journeyman card, with two painters, can fast-track the next. Insurance and a W-9 are required before day one.
Bring a Purdy XL 2.5-inch brush and a Wooster Sherlock 9-inch roller. If the homeowner left nail holes, a 3M Small Hole Repair kit is still the right patch. Do not take cash on the side to "just do the hall." Extra rooms go through the board.
From the Jobsite: The best foremen I know treat the first 10 minutes as a site walk, not a start. Plates, furniture, and wall condition get checked against the card. Then the paint opens.
Zero unpaid estimates
You should not spend Thursday night drawing a living room for a maybe. The guild job is already drawn. Open gorenderspaces.com/flex and claim the card that fits the crew you have.
Questions crews ask
Do I still give free estimates?
No. The homeowner already has a price. You claim pre-measured work instead of bidding blind.
Do I see the $677.50 on my card?
No. That is the customer's Good price for a 12×12. Your card shows a flat work-order amount and the Sherwin-Williams order.
What if the house does not match the card?
Stop before you open paint. The change goes through the board, including an extra room. Side cash is how a seat gets lost.
